Over/Under Season wins – February 2021

I did a lot of research into the last 21 years of betting odds and season results to see how teams have performed against the lines and I have some interesting findings that I will try to share in the blog. Here’s a few to get going.

Shortstop PAAR5 2020 Final

Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. ranked highest among shortstops in 2020 across the five categories. Trea Turner followed up his injury heavy World Series campaign with an amazing all-around season, ranking in the top four among the position in all five stats.

Third Base PAAR5 2020 Final

This position group is highlighted by a huge bounce back by Padres third baseman Manny Machado (who ranked in the top five in all five categories) and a huge collapse by Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado who failed to make this list entirely. Jose Ramirez ranked as the top third baseman, outperforming his positional peers by +58.3%.

Second Base PAAR5 2020 Final

This top group is highlighted by a breakout season from Brandon Lowe and another highly productive year from Yankee, D.J. LeMahieu. LeMahieu led the MLB with his .364 batting average and ended up tied for first among second base in runs. Lowe on the other hand had huge power, leading the position in home runs and runs batted in.

First Base PAAR5 2020 Final

Huge seasons at first base by Jose Abreu and Freddie Freeman won them the AL and NL MVPs in the shortened season. However, Luke Voit ranked the highest in our PAAR5 due mostly to his 22 HRs which led MLB.

Catcher PAAR5 2020 Final

Our top 9 ranked Catchers for the shortened 2020 season are headlined by Royals catcher Salvador Perez who, after missing 2019 due to Tommy John surgery, had a career year in his 37 game comeback campaign.
